PostSubject: Puppy Mills   Wed Jun 20, 2007 10:20 am

Manang just sent this email. Maybe most of you got it, but just in case you didn't, here it is.

Quote :
Do you know about puppy mills? If you don't -- and even if you
do -- then you've got to watch this undercover video:

STOP PUPPY MILLS

Puppy mills are large scale operations that force breeder dogs
to produce litter after litter to support consumer demand for
puppies. Puppies sold in pet stores or through Internet sites
come from places filled with suffering, disease, malnutrition,
and loneliness. Even the puppies themselves are often prone to a
variety of diseases. Some die within days or weeks of purchase.

The Humane Society of the United States is working to stop puppy
mills and they need your help.

Please watch this short video that exposes the cruelty of puppy
mill dog auctions. Then, you can take action by pledging to stop
supporting the retailers that perpetuate cruel breeding
practices.

Thanks for taking action!

Please take the time to sign the petition...this is such cruelty
to poor helpless puppies! Thanks! -Lyra

I've seen this video many times and have signed many petitions regarding this matter. We have been discussin it on another forum made by the 671BullyClub. We've all signed the petition and have asked pet stores many times to stop ordering pups from puppy mills. Unfortunately, puppy mills are one of only two ways pet stores can get puppies to sell and they are not obliviouse to what goes on in these puppy mills. I used to work for Feathers n Fins and the manager at the time stoped ordering dogs from off island and started buying dogs from local breeders. Unfortunately, they started to loose money and went back to ordering from these mills.

The 671 Bully Club has asked numerous times but only Little Wangs has agreed to stop buying pups from puppy mills. Feathers n Fins doesn't want anything to do with us because we raise pit bulls, and they still continue to buy pups from off island.

If you want to help, stop buying things from feathers n fins. Their are cheaper options, just ask me and I'll hook you up. Not just for dogs, but accessories and supplies.

it really is so sad to know that people don't have any conscience regarding any animal, much less helpless puppies. i am glad that agencies like the humane soc. of america and the others ARE fighting to stop these nonsense mistreatment. and you're right ced, business owners will just put aside what really goes on...just as long as they can make a buck, they won't care.

when we were in florida, we stoped by this store called 'puppy palace' and were so surprised that there were about a dozen pups of each breed. that day there was a 'new shipment' and by looking outside, those pups came in in a container. so sad.

Dam!!! Thats really sad. What sucks even more, is that, when the pups are sold, the people buying aren't even screened to see if they would make good owners for these pups. So most of these pups live a pretty miserable life till the day they die.
