PostSubject: Maravilla history and coat of arms.   Sat Jun 02, 2007 9:33 am

Heres the family coat of arms. I cleaned it up a little more from the last time. I say it looks better now. Just in case some did not know; about ten years ago I got curious about our family history and wanted to trace the family history back as far as I could. So, I went on the internet and kept searching. I finally got to a sight that were offering heraldic coat of arms and historic research of family origin. So, I decided to try it out. I had to pay some money, but to me it was worth it. They sent me a copy of the Maravilla coat of arms and a breif history of where the Maravillas came from. Sadly, I lost the copy of the papers that were sent to me, but I was able to save a xerox copy of the coat of arms because I was going to have it tattoed on me. I then retouched the image many times and this is the latest outcome. The only thing I remember from the history that they sent me was that our family was originally the Meranda family, don't quote me on spelling, and that our families were voyagers and spent lots of time out at see. Later, part of the Mirandas family split up and the other half took the last name of Maravilla. Thats all I could remember.

I thought this would be a great topic to talk about.

Here it is:

If you guys would like to add to our history, go ahead contribute. Please don't add non sense. Lets keep this strictly research and facts. Not stories we were told second party wise. If you want to talk about stories, your welcome to create a new topic on it.

it looks awesome. if i were to get another tattoo, i would do the crest Wink in the history, from which continent did the Miranda's originate from? i've always wanted to do a Maravilla family tree....trace back further into papa carlos' lineage.

Yah, I remember that...one...piece...of scrappy paper you paid so much for...Heeheehee!!
But hey, we all were desperate to find out, right?? It was worth something any way. Uhm...I hope. Gawd, an arm & leg, eh? Yours would weigh more than as much it cost...of course you'd be mad to misplace that... one...piece... of ... eh, you get the point!
Nice refinish on the coat of arms though!! It's w-a-a-a-a-a-y so much better than the one you paid for on that ...one...piece...of... *hihi!*

I have to agree with Liz on the forearm on the Maravilla coat of arms...I was meaning to ask what the arm meant, Ced? Does it have a meaning to it? The arm? Hehe!

Of course it has a meaning; I just don't know what it is. Laughing I'll look it up and let you guys know.

By the way. Did you guys know, that the coat of arms belonged to the man of the family. If a man had two sons; when they get married, they would each take the coat of arms of their father and change it a little to make it his own. So a mans coat of arms will be different from the father's and his brother's.

The women would take the coat of arms of their husbands......duh.

So me and Bong can actually take this coat of arms and change it a little. I really don't dig the mermaid thing. I think I will start a design of my own and put it up here.

Hahahah!!!
I so know what you mean, Manang.
It's just so much easier to express myself through texts and letters such as these.
Ced and I do talk, that's when we do see each other at home...which is barely. I dunno...typing is so much more fun. I let loose more. Hahaha!!
